trusting god’s divine timing

I was on my way to pick up my daughter from the bus stop, I saw an elderly man fall on the sidewalk.  I quickly pulled over. While jumping out the car, my cell phone fell somewhere in the car and I couldn’t find it. Perfect timing, right? I ran over to the man and his head was bleeding badly. I realized at that moment that all I knew to do in this situation is what I’ve seen on TV. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I knew that I couldn’t move him and I needed to talk to him cause he looked like he was going in and out. I was so scared.  I waved some cars down because I was too scared to run back to my car to look for my cell phone while he laid on the ground. The first person to stop was a nurse. Thank you, JESUS!  She was so calm. She told me he had a strong pulse and was able to sit him up against a pole. Some called 911. I didn’t want to leave him, so I did what I would have NEVER done and I asked a total stranger to go get my kid from the bus stop. The irony was she had just picked up her daughter up from the same bus stop so she knew exactly where to go. 🙌🏾 A woman walked up to me and said, “I’m so glad you were there to see what happened. Anyone else would have seen an old man on the sidewalk and just walked pass thinking he was homeless.”  Wow. She is so right. A few things I learned from this moment:

1) Everything we experience is divinely orchestrated. Know this. Even the painful and frightening moments have purpose.

2) After taking a look at the people who came together to help this man (it may have very well been a United Nations meeting lol), I saw the perfect representation of what our world SHOULD look like.

3) We all possess MAGIC that can make a positive impact on the world and that magic is gratitude. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I was that I saw that man right at the moment I was about to pass by. I am grateful to the people that stopped and didn’t keep driving. I am grateful to the nurse who knew exactly what to do when I was clueless. I am grateful for the people who showed up to really help and not just be nosey. I’m grateful that a stranger was able to pick up my child and bring her to me safely. I’m grateful the man was smiling and talking by the time the EMT showed up
