Many of you may not know that I’ve been in radio for 24 years, since the age of 16. I’ve worked for Radio One Inc. almost 17 of those years. It has been an honor to work for a company that values serving the community, and it is a value that I share deeply. My purpose in life has always been to serve. Whether serving young girls as the founder of JJ’s I’m Me Foundation, serving women through my book Without Bruises, or serving Single Moms through my website SingleMomsRock.com, I love to inspire and motivate young girls and women to be the best versions of themselves. The truth is, we can’t do EVERYTHING. We certainly can’t do everything and make it all GREAT. Something had to go. While walking away from a team of people I have grown to love is not so easy, it is now timely and necessary for me to fully live out my purpose. It’s time to step out on faith and to prioritize and pursue the plan God has clearly spoken to me. I am particularly grateful to the Mad Hatta Morning Show for welcoming my voice and input on their show for almost nine months. It was really fun to bring my perspective to the show and be valued for my authenticity! Terri Thomas, I am so grateful for you and your big heart. Thank you for snatching me up from Indianapolis and bringing me to the city I now call home. You all have impacted my life in undeniable ways and I am so appreciative of the time I was able to share with you. Nelson Mandela once said, “Action without vision is only passing time, vision without action is merely day dreaming, but vision with action can change the world.” I’m off to change the world now. Thank you for all of your support and love.
